Robotic Profile Towers

A Game Changing Solution for Modern Warehousing

How the Robotic Profile Tower Transforms Operations

The RPT (Robotic Profile Tower) is a ground breaking piece of technology developed for companies needing to store long lengths of material such as pipe, bars, profiles and sheets. Whether it be aluminium, steel, timber, copper or plastic, the RPT system assists in the manual handling of these awkward lengths. Where a standard cantilever rack or A-frame rack is traditionally used, there tends to be triple handling in terms of unloading from a truck, breaking the packs and then standing them upright into an A-frame or forking onto a cantilever rack for later use. Not only is the process of A-frame and cantilever racking time consuming, it can be very dangerous. These systems can take up significate floorspace as well.

What is a Robotic Profile Tower?

The system consists of towers that store trays on top of each other to the desired height with an extractor system that runs vertically up and down the centre of the towers picking the trays required and delivering to the robotic train at ground level. The train can then exit the tower to the pick station for either loading or unloading.

When an operator needs to pick from the machine, they can use the inventory software system linked to the WMS ERP system to locate and call a tray for picking.

Cut lengths and remnant can be recorded within the software to keep track of non-standard lengths for easy access when needed.

The RPT system is the ideal partner for a manufacturing site and can be fully integrated into a production line.

Robotic Profile Tower Frequently Asked Questions

The RPT system is capable of handling long lengths of various materials, including aluminium, steel, timber, copper, and plastic. It is designed to manage and store these materials efficiently, minimising manual handling.

The RPT system reduces the need for manual handling and the associated risks by automating the storage and retrieval of materials. Traditional systems like A-frame and cantilever racks require triple handling, which is not only time-consuming but also poses significant safety risks.

Yes, the RPT system is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing WMS and ERP systems, allowing for efficient inventory management and easy access to materials as needed through the use of sophisticated inventory software.

The capacity of the RPT system depends on the specific configuration and dimensions of the towers, which can be customised to meet the storage needs and space constraints of your manufacturing site or warehouse

The space required for an RPT system can vary based on the height and number of towers needed. However, it is designed to maximise vertical space, significantly reducing the footprint compared to traditional horizontal storage solutions like cantilever and A-frame racks.

The RPT system is designed with durability and low maintenance in mind. Routine maintenance primarily involves checking and servicing the extractor system and robotic train to ensure smooth operation. Specific maintenance schedules and procedures can be tailored to your usage patterns and will be detailed in the user manual to help maximise the lifespan and efficiency of the system.
